Our Payment Options
You will always make the decision about your pet’s treatment.
When you come in to see us, our veterinarian and nursing team will discuss our recommended treatment plan based on your loved pet’s health needs. This will include an estimate of the costs involved. If you have any financial concerns, we ask you to discuss this with us so we can find the best treatment plan for you with this in mind. Costs will be discussed with you prior to treatment, unless there is an emergency and we are unable to reach you.
Settlement is required at the time of your visit or upon discharge if your furry family member spends time in hospital with us. We accept EFTPOS, major credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), cash, GapOnly and VetPay.
Why We Value Pet Insurance
While it is a personal decision, we highly encourage pet insurance for anyone who owns a pet. There is no equivalent of Medicare for our furry family members, so treatment for our pets often exceeds what similar treatment would cost us. We never want to be in the position of needing to choose between our pet’s healthcare and financial constraints, and pet insurance helps provide peace of mind for unexpected circumstances (and bills).
We highly recommend researching individual insurance companies to review their cover options in order to make an informed decision best suited to you and your pet. They can vary in types and proportions of treatments covered, policy costs, and restrictions around annual limits, age and existing illnesses. There are a great variety of pet insurance plans available from many insurance providers, meaning greater choice and value for you.
GapOnly
If you have pet insurance, check to see if they are affiliated with GapOnly. GapOnly is innovating the pet insurance claims experience, Gap Only reviews and calculates your pet insurance claim while you’re still at the vet. You simply pay the gap (the difference between the vet’s invoice and the claim benefit under your policy) and go. No paperwork, no signups, less out-of-pocket expense, and on-the-spot claims processing.
More Alternative Payment Options
We offer a couple of flexible payment options at Ripley Vet through external providers. Like with insurance, we highly recommend you review all the fine print to ensure the provider’s payment plan is the best choice for you. Please be advised there is a 5% surcharge applied to process these. Currently we offer plans through VetPay, which many of our clients use. We do not provide in house payment plans.
VetPay
VetPay offer a payment plan designed to help you pay for your pet’s health treatment. After an initial 20% deposit and administration fee payable, VetPay process fortnightly repayments from your nominated account. If this is a suitable option for you, we recommend you apply for VetPay prior to your visit.
